Photographer's Note
This Jet boat takes visitors for a ride to scare the daylights out of them by doing fast turns and high speeds. It is designed to give all in the boat a rush of adrenaline, and rarely fails.
In 1954, on a shallow fast flowing river in the back country of the South Island of New Zealand, a small boat overcame the forces of nature to travel upstream against the current. The boat was a Hamilton Jetboat, and is recognised as the genesis of the modern waterjet propulsion system.
Today, waterjets are the preferred propulsion choice for a wide range of work and patrol vessels, and pleasure craft where high efficiency, outstanding manoeuvrability, shallow draft capability and low maintenance are key requirements.

Hi Murray
A superb shot of Sydney harbour. I like the inclusion of Luna Park in the bg. Excellent sharpness, colour, & pov. Tfs

A great action shot of the boat and the fun park in the background looks good. There is however maybe a stop of overexposure that needs sorting and I would also up the contrast on the shot to give it more bite

Hi Murray! Never rode on one of those! By the looks of it, must be really fun! Action-packed shot, the speed of the boat is apparent with the effect on the waves behind it. Interesting notes you've written as well! rgds.

Hi Murray,
A good POV of the jet boat, the water movement is an asset to the photo. It has a good composition and nice colors.

Hi Murray,
I really like the way you've framed the jet boat against the fantasy background and the strong contrast it provides between adrenaline and dreaming. Your note is excellent as well, it shows great insight as well as being informative. Looks like you're back in OZ?

Nice job with this shot. Like the stormy waters which the boat has created and the background so you can tell exactly where it is. Nice one, Dave

Excellent composition, Murray, and you have chosen a good POV to include Luna Park in the background. I don't agree with Adrian that you should have cropped some of that out. Nigel's workshop is very good as far as the contrast and levels are concerned, but he has definitely over-sharpened it. Cheers . . . David
PS: It is unusual to see a jet boat with its passengers not wearing lifejackets.

Hi Murry.
Man the people look small in that jetboat, must be a very large jetboat.
The colour of the boat stands out well against the slightly hazy background, well done.

Hi Murray,
I went on this same jetboat on my most recent trip to Sydney, an I think everyone should have a go on this ride! Like a rollercoaster on water! I like the way you capured this boat so clearly, because this one sure does travel fast. It is especially effective to see the way the boat has left a sharp curl of waves in its path in the centre of the shot. Nice also to have an interesting backdrop of the looming face of Luna Park. Very well done sir!
Matt
