A little bit political today.
"This is mine not the mine's" reads the sign out the front of this very basic cottage.
The storey behind the sign is this: Despite what you would think that new coal mines and mine extensions wouldn't be allowed to happen due to climate change the mine near the village of Wollar has been given permission to expand their open cut mine into the village. The mine is owned by one of the world's biggest miners (nameless for here) that is from a large nameless country on the other side of the Pacific ocean.
They have been busy buying up all the land and houses including the local shop and church (see WS for the church). Just 2 people are holding out against selling up including the owner of this cottage. The cottage itself is built of mud bricks and corrugated iron.
