Yesterday when I was taking photos of the approaching storm I went out into our back lane. This cockatoo wasn't in the slightest bit worried about the storm and started tucking into the seeds of grasses and weeds in front of our garage.
A couple of moments before it checked me out (see the WS) and decided it was safe to start eating again.
Also in the WS is a photo looking down the lane towards the approaching storm.

Hello Ian,
This is a cute photo and it's interesting to see such a beautiful bird from so close. But strictly photographically I would have preferred WS #1. It's fascinating to see that bird, so exotic to a European, in this kind of ordinary small town environment. The dark sky adds an almost surrealistic effect.
Best regards,
Gert

Hi Ian,
The tight frame is putting the bird in evidence. The point of view is showing the details of the Cockatoo. The light is giving good colors output. Have a nice day.

Hello Ian,
This cockatoo is probably as common to you as sparrows are to me! To us, cockatoos are pets or to be seen in a zoo!
This one is particularly unperturbed by your presence! Food is more important! The bird's lack of fear has given you the opportunity to obtain this lovely close-up, where we can see the plumage, the crest and the open beak, ready to sample the seeds!
The cockatoo is even visible on the long shot of the approaching storm!
Have a good day,
Bev :-)

Hi Ian,
Great series of wild life photos. I suppose a cockatoo is for you like pigeons for Europeans.
Incredible sight for me. I have to visit Australia someday :)

Hello Ian,
It's truly a beautiful cockatoo. It seems so unreal to me to see such beautiful birds in your street.
This bird probably thinks you should eat when the food is available and you shouldn't be scared off by a dark sky.
On the other hand, the sky in your WS1 really does seem very ominous. That while the foreground is still very bright.
Best regards, Paul

Hello Ian,
I really like parrots, and you're lucky to have this beautiful cockatoo in back of your home. (unless it causes some sort of mess or noise issue; I'm not sure if wild cockatoos are a problem there!) This bird portrait is great; the bit of yellow on the cockatoo's crest matches the dandelions he was eating. Excellent focus, too. Take care!

Hello Ian,
Three lovely photos of this bird. The sky in the WS photo looks scary.
