I'm doing a bit of a Jean here without any snow or mountains. We've visited Menindee and the nearby Kinchega Narional Park 2 years in a row. Last year the lakes were bone dry - bottom photo.
Then over our last summer there was lots of rain in Queensland which sent an abundance of water down the Darling River and filling the Menindee Lakes - top photo. There'll be much more interesting photos to follow.
These 2 photos were taken from about the same spot on Cawndilla Lake.

Interesantni i lepi pogledi, dobar tekst ...
Priroda je mocna, kisa je sve promenila, dobro pokazano sa lepim bojama, kontrastom, perspektivom i uhvacenim trenutkom.

Hello Ian,
Climate change or natural seasonal differences in this part of the world? In any case it looks like an extreme kind of low tide, high tide.

Gert

Hello Ian,
Such comparisons are very interesting!
I'm not sure whether this is a natural phenomenon or an aspect of climate change but it must be devastating for the wild life, which relies on more constant conditions.
It would be interesting to follow this up next year!
Have a good day,
Bev :-)

Hi Ian,in Italy we could have done the same post but with the photos upside down, this summer was really very dry and the hottest ever. It is curious to see the many rains that hit this area, at least the disastrous fires of the last few years have been avoided, beautiful high quality collage as always. Have a nice evening and thanks,Luciano

Hi Ian
A good comparison of drought and the aftermath of a good wet season. Excellent colour, sharpness and framing. The birdlife should be along later as well. Tfs!

Hello Ian,
You chose a nice wide image with a clear differ., between dry and wet
The landscape with brown vegetation cares for a nice contrast.
It are pleasant to look at.
Very well done, TFS.

Hello Ian,
I find last year's photo the most attractive. It looks like a view of a plain that could be agricultural area.
Of course we expect water in a river and in a lake.
Hard to tell if in the top photo the lake has overflowed or not.
Too much precipitation causes problems. Drought as well.
Climate change greatly exacerbates the problems.
Best regards, Paul

Hello Ian,
Its good to see that sometimes the photos taken later show more water surface than the ones taken earlier.
Best Wishes,
Gy.

Hi Ian,
The weather can be different each year and cause disaster a year later. The point of view is showing thed etails of the scenery. The light has a good effect on the colors. Have a nice day.

Hello Ian,
It is good to read about lakes coming back. Everywhere else they seem to be retreating.
