For the next 2 weeks I'll be posting a lot of spectacular photos from South Australia's Flinders Ranges.
Something gentler for the first 2 photos today. When this area was broken up for farms the blocks tended to be too small and eventually owners of unviable land sold up to neighbours. That resulted in there being quite a few farm houses (homesteads) being left to decay - ones such as this hilltop complex.
In the WS is a photo across paddocks towards low hills just before you get to the main part of the Flinders Ranges.

Hello Ian,
I imagine life must have been tough on farms like this. Is the soil even fertile enough for good farming? The main photo is the most interesting, but the WS view is more beautiful.
Best regards,
Gert

Hello Ian,
Looks as a secluded farm complex. The vegetation on the slope may suggest is a rough land to cultivate, my assumtion about.
Wish you a nice weekend,

Hi Ian,
The wideness of the area is giving depth to the composition. The point of view is showing the details of the farm buildings. The light is giving good colors rendering. Have a nice day.

hello Ian, I knew that Flinders Ranges was an attractive place but I went all the journey by Ghan, so it was not possible to visit it. I will see what I lost. Nice view of these old buildings.

Hi Ian,
Interesting how this relatively flat landscapes later suddenly turns into mountains.
I like the red color of the soil which is even more pronounced in the workshop photo.
The building seems to be in the middle of nowhere.
Very well spotted,
M

I liked more of the WS with those beautiful hills and the row of trees in evidence. the main post is more informative about the abandoned properties.
take care

Hello Ian,
It is sad to see these decaying houses reminding us of collapsed businesses.
