Photographer's Note

While the kangaroos roam freely at gorge wildlife park, the many beautiful birds appear to hunger for freedom.

From www.ckcbirds.co.uk: Roseates are approximately 13 inches from head to tail with a small helmet type crest which only becomes visible when the bird is excited.

The Roseate Cockatoo range covers most of the Australian continent because their natural habitat has been cleared for agricultural use (mainly growing corn), providing this cockatoo with a large food supply, which enables them to produce more young.

Australia does permit the slaughter of these birds. They attract them by spilling grain at loading facilities, then they slaughter the birds (shooting and clubbing).
