Photographer's Note

My Son and were riding in our local neigbourhood when we took an alternative route to this bridge. it's relatively nw and has been open only for a few months the creek bed is bone dry(courtesy of the current drought) This shot was intended as test shot for a Mamiya c220. After i developed it an scanned it i remembered a thought that occurred to me as i was taking this shot. I reminded me alot of a Jacques Tati Movie, 'Playtime' i think it was.
in as much that you have a ultra modern construction in an ancient landscape, and city planners are trying to reconcile both but ultimately failing, the resulting Landscape becomes a contrived Facsimile of the Original, but the local residents feel better about about themselves because they appear to living in harmony with their chosen location. It's somewhat ironic though as this bridge is located in one of the most expensive subdivisions in Adelaide, so rather than being at home enjoying themselves they are outand about, working and slaving away to be able to afford to live in a place they basically only sleep and eat in, as they are never home at other times. So much for the great outdoors lifestyle.
