Photographer's Note
I was taking photos on the eastern shore of Port Phillip Bay and noticed the cloud moving in front of the afternoon sun, so I waited for the right moment to catch this solar halo. Juggling exposure was tricky, because I wanted the flare to show up to best advantage without losing more detail in the cloud than I had to. I am fairly satisfied with the result.. :)

Hello, Ray--
It's a great light show and a very well-captured piece technically, but i feel like it lacks the power that it could have if you had found a way to match the great light with a foreground subject that would reveal a little bit about the place in which this picture was taken. Good light can make an eye-catching picture, but there needs to be some sort of earthbound subject matter for it to be as powerful as it could be, in my opinion.

Hi Ray,
Amazing light and cloud. Must have been a challenging shot. Still I wonder about the PP. IMHO, the blue and yellow are too saturated and give an artificial aspect to an otherwise natural landscape. Or am I completely mistaken and there was no PP on this one?
