Photographer's Note
10 August 2007, Bourke Street, Melbourne
Bourke Street, Melbourne, on a weekday afternoon, mid-winter. Under the watchful eyes of the State Parliament and St. Patrick's Cathedral atop the hill. It's grey, it darkening and the city is dressed in its black uniform which stands so distinct and aloof from the sunnier Aussie cities to the north and west. It's a bit past 4PM and slowly one linear chain of thought is forming in everyone's minds:
Get out of the office.
Get onto the tram/Get on yer bike.
Get the last minute shopping done before the shops shut.
Get out of the city before the traffic jam.
Get home.

Hi Mike
It's been years since I've been in Melbourne. I like the 3 spires of the bg cathedral, juxtapositioned against the fg cyclist. Good sharpness & shallow dof, with superb framing. Tfs!

A good mix of scenery and more artistic photography with the two people out of focus. The yellow sticks out well and seems to be the main point of attention for me, despite the cathedral in the background.
