Photographer's Note

Bill(trekks) came to Melbourne with a major mission in mind- to see a koala, not the soft toys made in China, but a real one. So off we went to Healesville;Santo, Alfred and I to see the koala in the Healesville Sanctuary. An easy task one would think, the place being about 50 minutes from my home. But with four cameras on board and therefore innumerable stops along the way, we got there twenty minutes before closing time.

One major stop along the way was on the highway, just before Healesville. To stop or not to stop, with less and less time to photograph koalas. Yet how to resist this sight- flooded paddocks, after very heavy rains in the area. The locals were running here and there, taking photos of this rare phenomenon. I kept telling my buddies that the scene reminded me of N.Z., especially on the opposite side of the highway, where the mountain range was reflected upon a large body of water.
The fellow in the picture was obviously tipped off about the unusual occurrence as he arrived with all the necessary appendages.

A photo of a mum koala with baby may follow.
