Photographer's Note
From Strahan it is highly recommended to go on one of the day cruises of Macquarie Harbour and the Gordon River. On the day I went, the morning was quite overcast as we began with a cruise around Macquarie Harbour and out through Hell's Gate, the entrance to the ocean.
After a wonderful lunch that included beautiful locally-farmed salmon, we headed up the Gordon River. Fortunately, the sun came out for this part of the cruise to shine down on the World Heritage rainforest.
