Photographer's Note
..out in the street.
Hola amigos.
I found this shot when it popped up on my screensaver the other day.
It's an older shot, taken on Australia Day.
I've combined two exposures in the shot, and a bit of contrast adjustment also.
It's similar to another shot I have, just from further back.
The photo was taken just outside what used to be Dooley's in the valley and is now called...
something else...
Not Dooley's, anyway.
It's still a pub, though, so it probably doesn't matter what it's called.
A handheld photo, and the image stabilisation is good, but not that good, so it's a bit blurry in parts.
Ummm, that's it.
Cheers.

Hello Adam
A quite good "down on the street" type of photo, I simply like the way the everyday streetcorner has been put to use to create a pleasant image of this place.
Composition is ok, but far from the best I have seen. In my opinion it is simply a bit too cluttered. There are lots of elements here that strive to attract the attention and I don't personally feel anyone of those elements reach the ultimate goal of taking all the attention.
I would proparbly say that a B&W version would look good, but then you lose the best marvel of this photo... that magnificent sky.
It is possible however to do something, had I only been at home by my computer I wcould have given it a try. My guess is that a B&W and colour conversion could look good.
Isolate the sky and simply conver the rest to B&W.
At least that is my view on what could be done! :P
Thank you for sharing.

Guess what! I would say that you were just coming out of the Irish pub which is located behind the POV on the right hand corner after some drinking session to commemorate Australia Day.
So, other than the Irish pub, you are also showing the other two pubs in Ann Street. I am feeling a bit dizzy with so many pubs in the same photo! It is a great area of the Valley.
Thanks for sharing your adventures. Keep on… drinking, mate!!!!

Hi Adam
Nice soft colors in this sunset. Very sharp with good depth. The blur of motion is nice. But the clouds and the colors make the shot. Wish the grils feet and a bit more of the crosswalk were included. But anyhow Well done.

Hello Adam,
What attracted me in this shot is the light from the evening sky. Besides of making the picture moody, it also adds a good contrast to the street scene. Good sharpness and motion.
Cheers,
