I had a dilemma which photo to post as the main but went for this one. After walking into Wilpena Pound I climbed up to a lookout on the rim. Wilpena Pound is a huge natural cauldron surrounded by jagged hills (it is not a meteor or volcanic crater).
This photo looks along the side from where I had climbed to. At one stage there was a sheep station in the pound but that didn't last all that long. You can see the homestead in the clearing in the photo. To see the full homestead go to the WS.
Also in the WS is a view across the pound towards the walls on the other side.

Chaeming landscape taken from a good POV, great effect with the green forest in the Fg and the view of the slope, good detail for the composition with the house,

Hello Ian,
Both wider views are good. but the main view is interesting for showing what a lonely place that homestead is. I guess it's still in use since it was so recently restored. Life would be very quiet.

Hi Ian,
Beautiful place for a hike in the nature. The sky which you had is not my favourite. Clouds hide the sun and the resulting colors are less saturated than they could be.
But the weather does not affect the feeling of adventure,

High view point above the forest, h=gave a bird's eyes perspective, Ian.
Thick vegetation in contrast to the barren slopes beyond.

I liked the shapes of the mountain ahead, looks like a snake-monster covered with spots. a nice contrast with the forest in the lower part.
