Photographer's Note

25 FEBRUARY 2005, CIRCULAR QUAY, SYDNEY

Souvenir shops boldy advertising their Aboriginal Australian merchandise fill the void underneath the Circular Quay railway station at the far northern end of the Sydney city centre. From here you can catch a train or a ferry to just about anywhere in this huge seaside metropolis.

For those of you who still haven't worked out what the title means, "Boom" and "Didg" are slang abbeviations for "Boomerang" and "Didgeridoo"; two very iconic symbols of Australian indigenous ingenuity; yet objects that few ordinary Australians can actually utilise with any skill (I can, sort of, play the digeridoo...).
