At this time of year Little Corellas (Cacatua sanguinea) leave their young in trees around where I live. Corellas are members of the cockatoo family but slightly smaller than the commonly known Sulphur Crested Cockatoo. The young corellas play with each other but at times you can clearly hear them crying for their parents and food. Once the food arrives you can hear the adult bird regurgitating food to feed the young ones.
When I took this photo out the back of our house there were nasty storm clouds approaching but the birds were still in the sun. The view was irresistible so I dashed inside and grabbed my camera and put on my big lens to take this photo at 500mm, hand held. I hope you like it.
Tomorrow a black cockatoo in my back yard.
