Back to Australia for some recent photos.
The Thredbo river is one of the main rivers that flow from Kosciuszko National Park and are fed by the snow melt.
Here it is below the snow resort of Thredbo flowing through a snow gum forest. The dead trees were burnt in a major fire several years ago (not last year). The trees are re-growing vigorously from the bases of the burnt trees and will soon hide the burnt trees. This is not a common pattern for eucalypts (gum trees) which usually re-shoot after fires along the trunk and branches as in photos I showed after last years fires.

Hi Ian,
Good photogenic composition from this POV with river, curve and forest, good colors contrast, perfect sharpness with the view of details in particular all these "white" branches, tfs.

Hello Ian,
The dead grey treetops look a bit strange as they rise above the dense green vegetation. But they provide an interesting pattern to the view of the forest, apart from the dark curve of the river that is the strongest feature of the photo.

Hi Ian,
The length of the river is creating depth. The point of view is showing the details of the river and of the trees. The light is bringing out the colors. Have a nice day.

Hello Ian,
The river is somewhat different from those posted recently and came as a bit of a shock, but this is much gentler and with a greener landscape.
How remarkable that these snow gum trees look so healthy after suffering from burning. We can clearly see how the dead, white branches are being overcome by the new growth.
My warm regards,
Bev :-)

Hello Ian, the bright blue of the river contrasts beautifully with the green trees. I like the point of view showing the river winding its way through the landscape.
The silvery grey branches are an interesting feature breaking up the pattern of green.
Kind regards, Jean.

Hi Ian,
very eye pleasing composition. The river makes of course the strong point here while the vegetation around it is so interesting repeated pattern.
Very well seen and captured,

despite being a symbol of a tragedy, the white dead trees created a special contrast with the green forest. excellent view showing the beautiful river.
