Photographer's Note

I was in Canberra (Our Capital) again today, so I thought I'd revisit the War Memorial that I posted a shot from about 2 months ago. This time the sun was low and strong, so I tried a totally different shot than the macro shot last time. The shadows are from the arches on the left of the walkway.

These dark, bronze panels are known as the “Roll of Honour” at the Australian War Memorial, Canberra. They record the names of more than 102,000 Australian servicemen and women who have died in wars since the late nineteenth century. Visitors attach paper poppies as a personal memorial gesture.
