Photographer's Note

Icon or cliché?
This sunset view of the mittens from the parking lot at Monument Valley visitors' centre is without question one of the most famous and iconic landscapes in America and in a way sums up much of my personal feelings about taking photographs in the American Southwest: how to create anything original when so many people have photographed exactly the same scene before?
In this case I decided not to even try :) This particular image does at least have the merit of being just about the widest angle you're likely to see in a single (non-stitched) shot from a DSLR. Taken with a 10.5 mm fisheye lens, converted from NEF and distortion corrected using Nikon Capture NX2 software.

Thanks for looking.
