Photographer's Note
Morning at the Maui, D. T. Fleming beach. The waves were putting an interesting show and I was watching it for a long while. This tree had a very dominate appearance on the beach. In this shot, I like the silhouette of the tree trunk and leaves.

I like those views in which trees and/or branches are used as a foreground framing device, and you made good use of the "dominant" tree here, Efi. Imagining the sound of the incoming waves, I can understand what you're saying in your note. The meandering shoreline and the softer contrast towards the horizon give a good depth, and the diagonal in which the water meets the sand is fine too. Very nice shot.

A beautiful composition, Efi. Very well framed, with the large tree almost making a C shape frame. I like the way the colours of the sea match those of the sky. Well seen.
