Photographer's Note
Taken on my way to the Hoboken St Patrick's day festival this past weekend.
I'm not a huge gear head but the nice folks at Nikon Professional Services sent me a new toy to use for a while. So far, I think it's the best camera I've ever shot with...yes...even better than the Leica M6...well..maybe.
It's been a long time since I posted here on TE. Recently I haven't done much street and travel photography. Lately, I've been shooting mostly fashion and portraits (http://www.markmgong.com) to try my hand at something different. In April, I'll be moved up to NYC for good and working out of the city as a freelancer.

I like this 'spur of the moment' shot sans colours. The mood is well captured. The composition is expert and lovely

Hello Mark. B&w the photo pleases me very well. It is alive and full expression and movement. Exemplary composition and grey tones. Good handling of the sharpness. Very beautifully. Best regards, Wolfgang.

Hi, Mark.
Good capture : all people are speaking faces.
Almost all people smile.
Good conversion.
Best regards. Grazyna.

Mark,
Absolute charmer here...
The B&W just accentuates the mood which tends to overwhelm out of the frame.
The sharp shiny eyes, ( intensional?) is awesome..
Cheers,
Prem.

This is absolutely a gem Mark. The accomplice look from the girl in focus is so good. And the glimpse of light in her eyes... But the way you "packed" all these strangers around her is also a treat. What can I say? A favorite.

Great expressions Mark, it's a complex photo that leaves our eyes traveling from one place to another, from one depth to another, from focus to blur and back.
Very good indeed - a mixture of public space and personal intimacy, loud laughs and secret thoughts.
