Coast of California from State Route 1
A seagull on a rock on the Pacific Coast seen from State Route 1 in California, which runs along the western shore. The drive is quite windy as it runs along the shore most of the drive, but it is one of the most beautiful drives I have been on. This shot was taken from a pull-out just south of the town of Big Sur at the same spot as my previous picture, taken early evening.

Hi Amber,
This is a wonderful, natural image of the coastline, and it has great depth to the shot. The foreground vegetation and seagull is definitely the main focus point, emphasised by the perfect clarity, which is then off-set by the mid rocky cliff, and finally the distant mountain which is a little more out of focus. Well composed and well captured.

This is an attractive image, for several reasons!
What first caught my attention is the fine feeling of depth, created by focus on the foreground...
I also notice the well chosen point of view along the coastline!
