Pioneer Shack?

This old home was along the road the day I drove around Mount Hood. I was amazed that I drove from the lush Pacific rain forest into the rolling grass lands of the high desert in just about an hour. The Cascade Mountains block the rain from crossing into the interior of the continent and the result is this arid land. The building looks to be old but I don’t know that for sure. Across the highway from it there is a modern farm house and all the requisite barns and out buildings but while they may be more comfortable they had no where the character of this place.

The light wis with me for a change and after drawing a bust on seeing Mount Hood, it was socked in with it’s own rainy weather system, I was happy to have this capture.
