Photographer's Note
I spent the day walking around the center of St. Louis and have come to realize that it is truly a beautiful city. The planners have done a great job; the old and sit side by side and are not all unpleasing. This is he corner of an office building built 100 years ago and in the bg is one built very recently. The blue sky is a function of a circular polarizer.
Everywhere I walked I saw this mix of old and new and will show more in subsequent posts.
In the 60's St. Louis has some huge public housing projects but demolished them in the 80s because of the failure they were. Now all efforts are being made in every quarter to revive the city, preserving where that is possible and build new but with complimentary style where that is not possible.

Hi Greg,
Great contrast between the red stone building with all its intricate details and the modern building of cool colors. The blue and red together are very striking. The colors are very clear with excellent sharpness to this urban beauty.

Hello Greg. The red building is awesome. The intricate details belong to a time when architecture was more attractive and rich. The newer and flat moder architecture is still pretty and in this contrast very well with the low brick building. The blue sky look clean. Great view and picture Greg.

Hi Greg,
I too enjoy photographing such juxtapositions of old and the modern. The graphism, and the contrast between the light and the shade go well with the theme. I would consider cropping the left to align the top corner of the building with the edge of the frame. Good work! Regards,

I must have been born into the wrong generation, because I must say I much prefer the old with all it's intricate detail which really shows clearly in this picture. The new building looks very nice against the sky though. Excellent color. A very nice composition. TFS

Hello Greg! Very well crafted composition presenting us with nice symmetrical lines to follow. The juxtaposition of old and new is well seen and especially the intricate detail in the old building. The colors are very warmly saturated, very well done all around.

Hi Greg,
I like the unique POV in this photo, the diagonal lines converging at the center, and the warm bright colors of the building on the right contrasted with the dark blue sky.
