Photographer's Note
First it's exuberance, the discovery of life and newfound power, the awareness of the body in the presence of pressure and the temptations of pleasure. Intimations of creation, delerium and ecstatic release.
A slightly different take in the Workshop.

Hello Hugh,
Excellent shot full of youth and power! The water explosion is great here and create also a very good graphism together with the children playing around!

A very good dynamic way of shooting. The flushing out of water and the little boy bathing make it a spontaneous shot.
Regards.

This is another good one Hugh, although I must say that I prefer the previous shot.
What I like here is how you caught the boy dead-centre of the fountain, with the water spraying out symmetrically on either side.
With the balance in that part of the image, I think the shot would have worked better taken in portrait format, excluding the people on the right of the frame and just concentrating on the boy and the fountain - going for a symmetrical, balanced composition.
Cheers,
Ben

Amazing capture...the force and elegance of the water sprouts are wonderfully composed with the little boy placed dramatically in the middle of it all. What a wonderful setting, the activities around add much to the mood.

Hi Hugh,
Nicely composed with the boy in the middle of the water jets of that fountain... i like the effect on the water giving strong dynamism to the image... the off centered framing and B&W works well too, IMO!

Honestly, I have to disagree with Ben on this one. The boy doesn't seem dead-centre to me. You could have thrown him a bit to the left but you would loose the kid close to the top left edge. The main subject is off centered and the way the fountain water opens like a butterfly to the sides is very good. I like this compo very much but I prefer to see it in color. This b&w is too gray for my taste. If I was I, I would have pushed contrast just a bit to lighten the water even more and to create a more contrasty image. The color version shows that contrast better than this take. Very nice!

Hi Hugh,
I think this is your best fountain photo. Though there was one that meant a lot for you.
The boy who gets it all is a good pov choice, the people on the rights adds also something to the photo.
