Photographer's Note

Looking at the Sectional Aeronautical Chart for the Denver area, you may get a vague idea of what you can expect flying in Colorado and Utah (this is how far the chart goes, including some areas of Eastern Utah too). High mountains but also areas looking rather “pale” on the map meaning that you leave the higher grounds entering a zone with not much. No sign of big towns but the dimension gets clearer if you have closer look at the map. Colorado River, Green River, Arches and Canyonlands National Park, all in reasonable flying distance from Moab airstrip where we had a quick stop over for “visiting” the toilet (never drink coffee before flying …or leave your wife at home) and stretching our legs. If you want further information how it came that I set in a little Cessna 182, this is some extra explanation to it The Strip The photo was taken from the back seat, probably 15 minutes before landing in Moab (Canyonlands Airport is the actual name) coming over from Telluride Airport.
