Frijoles Canyon, New Mexico
Another capture of Frijoles Canyon. This view is from inside the park at an overlook prior to arriving at the visitor center of Bandelier.
From the National Park Service Site: "The ancestors of modern Pueblo people built thriving communities in the area called Bandelier about 600 years ago. Several thousand Ancestral Pueblo dwellings are found among the pink mesas and sheer-walled canyons. The best-known archeological sites, in Frijoles Canyon near the Visitor Center, were inhabited from the 1100s into the mid-1500s." -http://www.nps.gov/band/

Hello Amber -
I spotted this image on the uncritiqued page and I am wondering why there has not been any attention paid to this image. I find that it is nice image that is well exposed. The composition is OK but I feel it is missing something that I can not put my finger on. I think if I was at this spot I would have looked for a FG point of interest to grab the viewers attention. The canyon is acting as a leading line and does provide access to the rest of the image. The bg looks to be a bit soft which is probably caused by the shallow DOF (f/4). I am not familiar with your camera but a landscape image should be sharp front to back and that generally requires f/11 or better. Anyway, well done.
Thank you for sharing.
John
