Autumn Creek,

Mill Creek Basin Trail - Hollowell Park - Rocky Mountain National Park.

I had a great walk down this trail last year .. by my count this my 8th post from that day .. well counting one from the drive home as well.

for those of you that don't remember the other seven (well see my Autumn theme) ...

It is a quiet trail to nowhere in particular that connects some of the major trail systems in the park. It is my favorite spot for shots along a bumbling creek.

It is a special place in autumn. The creek is framed by a thick long aspen grove. According to a Ranger I met one day .. the grove appeared when the creek area was logged for timber .. timber that went into many of the historic old buildings in the nearby town of Estes Park .. most notably the Stanley Hotel .. where Stephen King wrote "the Shining" ... the aspen grove will eventually disappear as the aspens lose out to the lodgepole pines as they reclaim the creek.
