Photographer's Note

Please see my workshop version (Altered Image #2) instead of this original, which was made too dark due to an improperly calibrated monitor!

The dirt road from the main highway to the Trona Pinnacles (seen in two of my recent shots) passes through a dry lakebed. On the way out from my sunset shoot of the pinnacles, I could not resist a wide angle shot of that lakebed. I did know full well that this was not the first such shot ever done, but I think there's a good reason for that. I find dry lakebeds to be starkly beautiful.

Someone is sure to ask, why did I use so many of the allowed pixels for the frame? Well, about 600 pixels is the maximum height that fits in a browser window at common screen resolutions, so I don't want the actual image to exceed that. So that leaves plenty for the frame.
