Photographer's Note

Okay, I'm a sucker for tourist traps. The cornier the better. The website Roadside America lists all the "must see" places in your state. This is the Dinosaur Gardens in Ossineke, south of Alpena. The 26 statues were handmade in the 30's and 40's and are positioned throughout a wooded swampy 40 acres. When you enter the park, you are greeted by a statue of Jesus holding the world in his hand, (Does this mean the cavemen were christians?). I've been informed that the dinosaur pictured here is a Postasuchus. But we could be wrong since we were not there. It was entertaining to see this creator's interpretation brought to life. Much easier to picture a dinosaur this way than with just bones on display in a museum.
