Photographer's Note

Not too far north from the , Golden Gate Bridge is the little town of
, Bolinas , and between Bolinas and , Stinson Beach is the , Bolinas Lagoon . A place filled with wild life and birdsongs. We had spent a most enjoyable time having the obligatory mother’s day picnic, and while the rest of our group sat around and chatted, my husband and I got ansy and decided to hike up to see the Herons nesting. The hike was short (about 25 minutes) but very steep hike to up the side of the canyon, on a trail well suited for mountain goats (specially if they have a taste for poison oak).
This little one and her mom walked behind us the whole way and each time we stopped at one of the viewing platforms she could not contain her enthusiasm. She OOOOHED and AAAAHED at each new discovery. On the trail she made up names for flowers and talked non stop.
This was taken at the last viewing platform which looks over the , Bolinas Lagoon . She was transfixed as she watched a beautiful white bird perform an amazing aerial ballet as if it understood how much she would enjoy it. As she very reluctantly gave up the binoculars she loudly exclaimed, “That’s it I’m going to be a veterinary botanist.”
I took several photos yesterday, all of the birds all the pretty scenery, but this is my absolute favorite.

The photo was adjusted using crontrast, and neat image and cropped resized and saved. One of the settings on the camera got switched accidentally and the photo came out much smaller than usual so it was a bit more difficult to work on it. I am bothered by the over exposed arm.
