Photographer's Note
The beautiful port of Los Angeles shown accomodating the Keystone Tanker Company's 'Prince William Sound'. This picture is, guessing, probably taken in 1996.
She is now a vessel under scrutiny by Greenpeace. It seems the environmentalist contingent is interested in seeing her 'decontaminated' before she is dismantled on the beach of some third-world country.
The Prince William Sound usually sailed from Valdez, Alaska to Los Angeles/Long Beach and back. She is/was a tanker of 122,941 tons deadweight and was built in 1975.
In January 2001 this ship had a minor boo-boo when she accidentally discharged 420 gallons of oily water into the bay/straits while anchored in Port Angeles, Washington.
