Photographer's Note
Here is a view of Goat Rock Beach, Sonoma State Park. Extending from the rock in the middle, you can see a dividing line between clear water in the foreground and muddy water in distance. The muddy water is caused by the Russian river enters Pacific Ocean at the bay next to the foreground bay. A view of the Russian river enters the Pacific Ocean is posted in WS. The Russian river before pour into Pacific Ocean is seen in one of my previous posting Russian River.
I guess the reason of the muddy water from the Russian River is caused by the rainy season. Personally, this is the first time I have ever seen a dividing line between the clear water and muddy water on the ocean, although I heard about it before.

Hi Wes,
Great capture of this beautiful coast line. The low light created a mystic and nice atmosphere, enhanced by the different tones on the water.
Great work

Hi Wes! Interesting to see the muddy and clear waters meet! I can see it clearly....looks like the weather there has not been so good, it's quite dark and there are rain clouds looming. I wonder why it's called Goat Rock...and why the river is called Russian :)

Hello Wes,
This looks like a very nice place to visit. very nice landscape. I like the movement in the waves. From the clouds and the light it looks like a farly windy day...

Good composition where the beach and water's edge successfully lead our eye into the frame. You have taken some good shots on this trip despite being unlucky with thte weather.

Hi Wes, interesting to see you post another moody ocean picture. the depth is good and i like how the far distant disappear behind the misty cover. not so easy to see the dividing line you mention but thx for showing me this geographic wonder. TFS.

nice view Wes,
The view is very well taken but I think personal that you can improve the shot with a crop. let's say the Carper format is very good to do with this image, yes I think that such a format is better, but ofcoarse that is personal, well done, wes.

Hi Wes - despite the bad weather you have still managed to get a good image here - the colours are really good, not only of the sea but of the land as well.
Good POV too.

Hej Wes,
A very nice seascape. The grey weather works nicely here. It's nice you almost can't see the horizon. The green on the cliffs is good to add some colour. Good work!

Hi Wes. Even with the overcast the beauty made it through loud and clear. There sure weren't many waves coming in when you took this. The horizon is ruler-flat. Good work Wes!

Hola Wes.
We have the same problem in Santo Domingo when we have some rain, the Rio Ozama enter the Caribbean Sea and the sea get very muddy around our city coast line, it last few day to go away after the rain stop.
The rainy day with low clouds produces a nice composition, the irregular coast line give you a nice perspective with a good POV.
Well done.

Nice one, Wes!! I like the framing with the well-captured color and detail in the ocean waves meeting the muddy water of the Russian River and then the scene fades gently off into the mist. From the WS I can see the Russian River is really booming.

Hi Wes,
A little bit misty make a picture always nice atmosphere, also the curving of the coast line gives a excellent composition, also soft of colours.
Have a nice weekend,

You have got the parting line in a wonderful way. The way you handled the low light condition is amazing. The deep green colours and the white surf is well contrasted. You have shown us a wonderful and exciting view of nature. Thanks and Congrats.

Hi Wes
Looks like you have been hanging out in my backyard. I live about 30 minutes from Goat Rock in the small town of Sebastopol. You encountered a typical coastal day in Sonoma County - foggy. Goat Rock is probably the 2nd most popular beach for locals finishing behind Salmon Creek. Nice composition and contrast although, to me, the green tones are a bit strong especially for a foggy day. Did you increase saturation? I have shot about 20 feet to the north of Goat Rock on a day that sun had to fight to be seen. Thanks for visiting us in Sonoma!

Hi Wes,
A superb view of this great coastline and yes, the muddy waters of the river are clearly visible. I like the textures and hues of the water and shore here. Despite less than favourable weather, there is a real ambience present. I also like the roll of the waves and foaming surf as it slides over the contrasting sand. By the way, if you have a chance to visit Fort Ross, it is worth the trip... Very well captured.

Hello Wes,
I love this kind of beach pictures, where the cotves of the shoreline are dwindling in a distance!
Good contrasty foreground really standing out against the back, the rocks and surf add life...

Hi Wes
A fine moment you captured here - I like the hazy horizon and the rough nature. Could this be sweetwater and salty water which meets - I seen something like this before then - thanks for sharing - very well observed.

Hello Wes, this is a beautiful scene of this dramatic coastline. The beach has gentle curves but the rocks add a harsher element. The grey clouds and white waves give power to the photo as if a storm is about to break.

Hi Wes,
There is very good atmospheric perspective here and you have handled it very effectively. The scattered rocks in the sea add good variety to the ocean and I particularly enjoyed the beautiful green against the grey background. Well done!! Regards and all the best.
