Photographer's Note

Just south of these mountains lies the connecting point for the USA's first transcontinental railroad at Promontory Point where they pounded in the golden spike. But I wasn't really thinking of that when I took this photo.

I tried some new techniques with this image, notably the smudge tool to give a painterly look to things. It was fun to work on, but took some time. I hope it still has a photographic quality to it, and complies with TE guidelines!
