Photographer's Note

Dorchester is the largest neighborhood in Boston, somewhat analagous to Brooklyn in New York City. Throughout most of the 20th century, Dorchester was a primarily working-class area, with large spacious homes later hemmed in by multi-family buildings. The ones in the photo are, by Dorchester standards, a bit dense. The space between buildings here looked pretty tight, but there was just enough room during a storm for the wind to taper the snow clinging to a bare tree.
