Photographer's Note
Ships, trains and all things industrial hold a special allure for me. Night shots are often more complimentary to the subject as they tend to obscure some of the scars and rough spots of such scenes. It is interesting too, to see what people are up to when most of the nation has gone to bed!

Fine diagonals in the lower part and a nice industrial view of lights and smoke in the upper. I like it a lot. Perharps it could be a bit darkeer or more contrasted, on my screen that is.

Industry, trains and night ambience. This is a scene that I like a lot.
Some colour adjustment would improve this I think. Brownish hue of those lights does not look quite right.

I have an emotional connection to scenes like this also. The colors of the night are correctly represented, the dark tree against the lighted yards gives contrast, the clairity of the image is amazing. You have a good eye to have caught all this.

Hi James,
The light on this night scene is extremely well caught, this is an unusual view and, although it is a difficult subject, it looks good on this. Well done,

I've read your intro.
I flipped through your portfolio.
That's what I intend to do.
Inch by inch, west to east..south to north..and I already started.
Amazing work.
Technicality - one can only envy.

Night shots take a lot of patience. You have several good night shots. I like this scene because of the haunting ambience you managed to capture. I especially like the sepia tone look of the train and the foreground.

I love the composition for this shot! All those industrial lights are very interesting, and the smoke from the smokestack almost looks beautiful. I don't know how you have turned an industrial site into such a work of art. That takes a good eye!
