Photographer's Note
It's currently 1 F (-17 C) with a windchill factor of -20 F (-29 C) in Chicago. This morning at about 7 AM when this picture was taken was even colder than that.
This is how Lake Michigan looked like this morning - gentle waves, mist rising from the water (the water is relatively warmer than ambient temperature) against the sunrise, and the shore frozen and covered with snow. I took this just as I stepped out of my house on my walk to the train station. I just can't resist.
Yesterday was our first significant snowfall - up to 8 inches. I love the winter!!!
Tech: rotation to correct tilt, autocontrast and sharpening.

I don't know about this one Ken. There really isn't much to draw the eye in. Also it is way oversharpened.
Those clouds (?) far on the horizon are strange looking, but aren't dominant enough in the pic.
Anyways, it's freezing here too (-7 C). I miss the sun :-(
