Photographer's Note
Ok, I know that this rat is in a cage, and normaley I would not post a photo of a caged rat, but this guy has skills. It took me 4 weeks to catch this rat with a live trap. He was able to steal the bait 4 times, one even had the trap door down? I have a 90 year old house and every year or two I seem to get one, "in the winter". So here you go rat, there is your 15 words of fame.
For you people wondering what happened to him, you can find him in a field about 5 miles away from my house. I dont think he will be around for long due to the 3 large birds of prey that are flying around the fields, but best of luck.

Great picture the detail is wonderful; as a matter of fact too wonderfull. I expect him to start licking the inside of my monitor anytime now. Way too realistic. I'm not frightened of rodents but this one is just too real and BIG. Great work!!

"Very nice" Rich - but I like your story and its a perfect shot - My house 130 years old and (hopefully) without rats - at least indoor. But I do have a serious mouse problem and I taken some pictures, which I’m planning to post.

HAH! Very cool photo... Great detail - Nice warm colours. Kind of handsome as far as rats go!

I like this picture! I agree with the comment about warm colors, they are really nice; and the detail is good indeed. I like the details on the paws, you can see the litle "toes"! I think you made a good choice of not showing its "naked" tail; it would "steal" the scene. Nice photo!
