Photographer's Note

Every time an acquaintance or relative (and it can be my acquaintance or my friends’ friends or relative) comes to visit I seem to always be appointed as the tour guide, a task I love to do.
My cousin came from Portugal to visit for 3 weeks she fell in love with San Francisco, easy to do regardless of the city’s many faults it is a beautiful and friendly place.
The last big tourist thing we did was to visit Alcatraz. Although a tourist filled place it is very interesting and every time I’ve gone there I discover something new. The day we went was beautiful, there was no fog and just enough of a wind to be pleasant and not annoying.
The boat ride to Alcatraz is about 15 or 20 minutes and it has the added bonus of having beautiful views of the bay and of the cities on its shores. On our way there was a male dance troop, I think they were from Germany, they spoke very fast German, they were also dressed in traditional clothing (by the time we got to the island they were looking very frozen). This one man was beside himself at seeing the views as we were heading to the island, and he jumped on these flotation devices to take some photos of the city skyline. I was trying to re adjust the settings on my camera and snapped this quickly, as he was being told to get down.

The photo was cropped, color and levels adjusted and resized incrementally, sharpening slightly at each step. NeatImage run. Although I like this a lot I can’t help feeling the sky looks dirty specially on the left.
