A well caught smile and it stands out well against the blurred background. On my screen it looks a bit too dark though.

great job catching that youthful, cheerful spirit. it would be better if you got all of her hair, otherwise it is a good portrait.

Long time I didn't comment your shots Zandra ;) I'm normally not a cute kid portrait addict, but I must say this One works very well and is also pretty much illustrative of your title. We could almost hear happiness.
Two things that makes it stand out, otherwise than her cheerful smile and communicative joy of course : the quality of the blurred background and the marvelous blue/brown color opposition.
I also love your thick white framing ;) ...

coming here after Luko's comment. fantastic colors - blue, green and yellow - what a mix. very nice compo and wonderful bokeh. and all that joy.
any flaws? hm, maybe the focus is on more on her arm than on the face. and i have no idea who is he smiling at, i got a feeling it was taken with a long tele lens from a distance... but still it is a very attractive image Zandra, those colors, that smile ;)

Really amazing!!you captured it,and captured it very well!! what a expression on her face.. her eyes telling all.. "Eyes can speak"..

I kind of share Luko's "reserve" about close portrait of cute kids but I also agree that this is a genre-busting capture that simply ZINGS. It is simply incredibly beautiful and vibrant with some of the nicest bokeh I've seen in a long, long, time.

I agree with the focus statement and Think that if the subject were looking at the photographer the photo would be more appealing.
Sometime getting the courage to aproach people for photos can be hard to find.
But, when you do find it, your photos become so much more.
