Photographer's Note
From where we stopped to see the petroglyphs, I looked back and saw these terraced hills on the Washington side. Quite different from the rice terraces of the Far East, I would say.

Hello Murat,
That was my first thought too: "Quite different from the ride terraces of the Far East". But it's an interestingly shaped hillside nevertheless. I also like the colors and shapes of the Promise of Return.
Best regards,
Gert

Hello Murat,
The effects of Nature never cease to amaze!
These ridges, or terraces, look as if they have been purposely created, like steps on the hilside, to prevent erosion.
I'm sure, in the past, they were regarded as 'Giant Steps' and attributed to some great fictional monster!
Nice overlapping of the river bank, to create interest and depth.
My warm regards,
Bev :-)

Hello Murat,
A great view of the river towards the beautiful shapes of the hills here. Those layers look great, especially underneath the blue sky. The rocks at right are also well included.

Hi Murat
There is no sign of human involvement in these terraces except perhaps encouraging erosion. A good photo, especially with the good detail in the large view.
cheers

Hi Murat,
I love extraordinary rock formations, as mentioned before. I have never heard about this region. I suppose American Southwest is overshadowing other places.
I am glad you share this reportage may be I should explore areas north of California someday. I just guess the weather is more unpredictable up there, but you had a lovely weather,
M
