Photographer's Note
Indeed, Saint Thomas in the Caribbean belonged to the Danish Crown in the 17th century. The Fort Christian that we see on the photo, built in red bricks, is a testimony of this "Danish" era of the island of Saint Thomas.
Another memory, the name given to the small town, the main one of the island: Charlotte Amalie, name of the wife of king Christian V (reigning on the Scandinavian Kingdom of 1670/1691).

Bonjour Jean,
Les mats des voiliers ont un effet graphique. La prise de vue permet de voir les détails des voiliers et des immeubles. J'apprécies les différentes teintes de couleurs de l'eau. Bonne journée.

Hello Jean,
Great view of this formerly Danish island, the sea is so blue and the sailboats are nicely scattered around the water. The contrast with the red buildings is very nice as well and the view is nicely alternated with lots of green as well.

Hello Jean, I haven't known that there were Danish islands in the Caribean. Very attractive view of this red Fort Christian. Strange, that the street is so close to the sea and low. Are there are no big waves in the sea? Beautiful composition, wonderful colours.
Best regards MAlgo

Hello Jean,
Well, I have learnt a bit of history today.
The buildings do have that Danish character and their deep colouration add so much depth to the b/g of your photograph.
The sea is so bright and invites us in, especially on a day when the weather here is wet and grey!!
Maybe I would have cloned out the f/g mast, just to stop any distraction.
Have a good day,
Bev :-)

Bonjour Jean,
amazing colors! The red building made me rather think of Italy than Denmark.
The red goes well with light blue waters.
Very photogenic destination.
After holidays like that, it is so much easier to suffer the restrictions of pandemic times.
Beautiful work!!

Hi Jean.
Certainly this type of construction of the fort in red bricks reminds me a little of the Danish style, like the one we see in the Copenhagen City Hall, but here the beautiful blue sea changes everything.
Well seen and done. I like it.
You have a good day.
Very best regards.
Luis.

Jean, the red fort and its clock tower contrast with the turquoise hue of the sea. The building represents a relic of the Danish occupation in this island. Fine colors, good sharpness, regards.

Hello Jean,
I did not realize we got the Virgin Islands from the danes. The red castle makes a fine contrast to the azure Caribbean. 👍🏻
