Photographer's Note

On our way from Yellowstone back to Canada, we stayed the night in the city of Great Falls, Montana, named for the Great Falls of the Missouri River, a series of five falls, located along a 16 km long stretch of the river. Four of them are now the site of hydroelectric dams, like Big Falls, which we visited after we’d checked in at our hotel. I added a photo to the WS, unfortunately another thunder storm was in the area again at the time.

The sun had returned a little later, when we strolled through the quiet streets of the city itself after dinner. Great Falls has got almost 60,000 inhabitants, which makes it the third-largest city in Montana. It was founded in 1883. It took this photo at a deserted parking lot near the corner of 1st Avenue and 3rd Street and it shows the side of Hoglund’s Western Wear.
