Photographer's Note

We got to the Top of the Rock viewpoint at 5:30 so my in-laws and wife could see it before heading to the Morgan Library at 7:00. Much as I love old books and manuscripts (I do, actually), Top of the Rock at blue hour was the number one photo opportunity I wanted on our New York trip. So I waited up top for just shy of four hours, through rain and sunshine.

Most of my pictures were taken looking towards Midtown Manhattan, but I got a few looking towards Central Park and the Upper West Side, with the Hudson River and the George Washington Bridge in the background. This was one of my favorites that I took during an interlude between storms.
