Photographer's Note
This view is through the Angel's Window Arch all the way to the bottom of the Grand Canyon and the Colorado River.
The backpackers hiking trail from the North Rim through Bright Angel Canyon to the bottom and the Colorado River is 14 miles, and a descent of 6,000 feet.
At 5 miles is Roaring Springs and at 7 miles Cottonwood Campground, both good places to rest and sleep. And at the bottom is the historical Phantom Ranch - reservations for lodging required.

This is an interesting one, Ray! On close viewing, it is clear, what is near and what is far, but (I think owing to the brightness of the distant scene) at first glance it appears the river is the foreground and the stone framing may be the background. Also, the tree in the bottom left contributes to the illusion -- a very fun image to consider!!!

Hi Ray,
Impressive view with this mineral window, light is perfectly managed, I like the warm tone of these rocks in the FG.

Hello, Ray!
I had to see the photo more than once to understand it, and that effect is really great! The warm tones of the foreground make a very nice contrast with the background, giving very good depth to the image! Wonderful and interesting composition, that made me confused at first! Excellent job!

hello Ray,
Beautiful view through the natural window. Descent of 6000 feet (it is 1800 m, why you do not use Systeme International???) it is something. And than to climb it, even more. Must be great experience to go on this hiking. Nice colours, beautiful light.
Warm regard s Malgo

Hello Ray, a very interesting point of view that certainly plays tricks with the eyes as we try to discern which is the bg and which is the fg.
The fg rocks are a beautiful warm colour.
Hard to believe that the river is 6000 feet away in the valley.
Good sharp quality.
Regards Jean.
