Photographer's Note

Getting back to my recent stroll through Central Park,
here is a view of Bethesda Terrace, which is considered the heart of the park.

In the center of the terrace is a fountain, topped by a bronze sculpture called "Angel of the Waters". Behind the fountain, completely coated by a fresh dusting of snow, is the southern edge of the park's largest lake.

Unlike in my first photo, where snow covered the entire landscape, paths were shoveled for pedestrians to stroll around the terrace. I liked the way they formed a ring of spokes around the fountain itself.

The shadows in the foreground were made by the upper part of the terrace, where I stood to take this photo.
