Photographer's Note

California's Native Americans suffered many hardships, prejudices, and murder from the westward migrating Europeans and U.S. citizens. Today their numbers are only a fraction of what they were before the Gold Rush of 1849.

In this view, are the Red Hill Dancers performing at the Old Sacramento Gold Rush Festival.
