Photographer's Note

I captured this cheerful Christmas wreath hanging on to one of the many burial crosses that mark death at the Taos Pueblo Cemetery.

This current cemetery at the pueblo is built on the ruins of the San Geronimo church which was destroyed in the Spanish Revolt of 16980. The bell tower in the background stands in memory of the church that once existed here.
