Photographer's Note

Lake Ozette, on the northern boundary of the Olympic National Park's coastal strip, is the largest unaltered lake in Washington state. It is eight miles long and three miles wide. There are three islands on the lake and also two three-mile boardwalk trails that lead to the Pacific Coast. At night we heard hooting owls and choruses of frogs, and early the next morning hummingbirds buzzed over our tent with deer at our doorstep.
