Photographer's Note
This shows the stars movement (it's actually the earth's movement) over 2.5 hours time. I set my camera to continuous drive mode and took about 150 30 second pictures using a velcro strap to hold down the shutter button. I then merged all the pictures using a free program I found and this is what I got.

I'm a big fan of star trail pictures (I take a lot of them in the himalayas), and I think this is by far the best urban star trail exposure I have seen. The exposure is ideal, and the composition excellent. I'm also impressed with your results with the camera: I can't think of a method of using a compact camera to shoot star trails. Your velcro method must have been quite innovative...
