Photographer's Note

how many lights do you see?
there's one that waits for closing time
and there's one that gets left on all night
and there's one that marks the western sky
and it shines down on the quiet street
and there's one that floods the darker parts
and there's one that hurts my tired eyes
-bright eyes

this was a hair salon on street level in an old building downtown, where the ground floor is actually about four feet raised from the sidewalk, so this is what i saw as i was wandering the streets at dusk. i like how it's blurry. when i first saw the photo i couldn't recall what this was a photo of (i thought it was upsidedown). there is a chair on the right, magazine rack on the left, and there's a light at ground level on the left.
